Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Head of HR at Playbook Engineering. As the selected candidate, you will be strategically linking HR with daily business operations, integrating people dynamics with business needs. You will be shaping company culture, developing the workforce, and contributing to business success through collaboration and influence. You will work with senior leaders, managers, and team members to align HR strategies with business objectives. You will foster a positive company culture, implement workforce planning and talent management initiatives, and serve as a trusted advisor. To succeed, you will need a deep understanding of business operations and people dynamics, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to influence and collaborate with all levels of leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. HR projects and processes: Lead designated HR projects and processes, including performance management, employee engagement, and career development. Provide guidance on HR process and policies to new and existing team members.
  2. Employee relations: Lead on the management of employee relations cases, adhering to the necessary processes and procedures.
  3. HR support and advisory: Offer comprehensive HR support and advice, guiding managers on PL labor law throughout the employee lifecycle (from on- to off-boarding).
  4. Off-boarding and disciplinary processes: Provide support for disciplinary processes and employee terminations in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  5. Recruitment: Develop and implement strategies to identify, attract, and hire the best candidates. Work closely with hiring managers to understand job requirements, create job descriptions, and align on hiring priorities.
  6. HR strategy: Contribute to the overall HR strategy through partnerships with line managers and the Board.
  7. HR mentoring and support: Support and mentor the HR team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Support the HR Coordinator and external accounting company with payroll and benefits administration.
  8. Learning and development: Lead the learning and development initiatives. Work on the proper training on both internal and external (e-learning) platforms.
  9. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align HR initiatives with business objectives and requirements.
  10. Change management: Lead and implement change initiatives to enhance HR operations.
  11. Stay Up-to-Date: Keep policies and procedures up-to-date to facilitate the employment, engagement, development, management of staff, and employment compliance.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Experience: 4+ years of proven experience in a similar role. Comprehensive experience in HRBP management, including a strong understanding of employment law, general payroll processes, and HR best practices.
  3. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively handle employee and management queries. Fluent in English (speaking and writing).
  4. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  5. Comfortable making decisions independently.
  6. Solid problem-solving abilities.
  7. Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  8. Mentoring and team-building capabilities to support the team effectively.
  9. Experience and willingness to work with multicultural teams.
