Key Responsibilities

  • Financial strategy and planning: lead the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long‑term financial plans aligned with strategic goals; build robust financial models for revenue forecasting, cost planning, unit economics and scenario analysis; provide financial insights and recommendations to guide decision‑making at the executive and board levels; design financial team structure for a new crypto business line.
  • Financial operations and accounting oversight: oversee all accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely month‑end and year‑end closes; implement and maintain strong internal controls, audit trails, reconciliation processes and documentation standards; establish accounting policies for both fiat and crypto transactions (including valuation, custody, revenue recognition and cost tracking); manage relationships with external auditors and coordinate annual audit processes.
  • Tax compliance and regulatory reporting: ensure full compliance with tax obligations across multiple jurisdictions, including corporate tax, VAT/GST, payroll taxes and digital asset‑specific tax requirements; oversee preparation of tax filings and liaise with the internal tax team and external tax advisors; develop processes for tracking taxable events in crypto (staking, trading, conversions, token allocations, etc.); monitor regulatory changes and ensure the company’s financial operations meet evolving compliance standards; pursue tax optimisation.
  • Treasury and cash management: manage the company’s crypto and fiat treasury, including liquidity management, custody arrangements, yield strategies and secure internal approval workflows; establish policies for cash flow management, capital allocation, reserves and reporting; supervise treasury operations such as wallet management, exchange relationships, crypto‑to‑fiat conversions and counterparty risk assessment; build treasury dashboards to monitor balances, exposures and operational flows in real‑time.
  • Banking, financing and liquidity provider relationships: act as the primary point of contact for banks, payment partners, exchanges and liquidity providers; negotiate and maintain operational banking setups, credit lines, working‑capital facilities and LP agreements; ensure smooth on/off‑ramp infrastructure and optimise financial rails for efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Reporting and stakeholder communication: produce monthly management reports and board‑level reports including financial deck; ensure clear and consistent reporting on cash flow, profitability, treasury positions and financial performance metrics.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 10+ years in finance roles (financial controller, treasury, accounting, tax reporting).
  • 5+ years experience managing finance teams.
  • Experience in high‑growth fintech or crypto startups or financial brokerages.
  • Proven ability to build and scale finance teams and systems.
  • Experience managing multi‑entity, multi‑jurisdiction operations is a strong plus.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
  • Professional designations such as CPA, ACCA or CFA are a significant advantage and highly valued.
  • Deep understanding of budgeting, forecasting, tax compliance, GAAP/IFRS, cash management and internal controls.
  • Familiarity with crypto transaction flows, custody models and Web3 financial tooling (or willingness to learn quickly).
  • Strong analytical skills and mastery of financial modelling.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.
  • Comfortable being both strategic and hands‑on in a startup environment.
