Head of Engineering (K/M/X)

Twój zakres obowiązków

  • Lead the engineering and the delivery processes across the whole group in Poland in close collaboration with local entities and withing different contractual modes (EPC and EPC-M).
  • Establish and maintain engineering standards for all district heating and industrial generation projects, covering design, performance, safety, and sustainability.
  • Define technical requirements and specifications to ensure consistency and quality across subsidiaries and project phases—from feasibility to commissioning.
  • Set specifications for fuel types, heat sources, other generation assets and renewable components integration to optimize system performance and environmental impact.
  • Develop and implement standardized design blueprints and engineering templates to streamline design processes and improve scalability.
  • Define engineering principles for plant layout, system integration, thermal efficiency, and automation controls.
  • Ensure effective interconnection and integration of new assets with existing district heating networks, electricity grids, and industrial facilities.
  • Collaborate closely with Procurement to define technical criteria for equipment and materials, ensuring alignment with cost, reliability, and lifecycle goals.
  • Lead the technical dimension of the coal exit strategy, overseeing decommissioning plans, replacement projects, and the introduction of renewable or waste-heat-based systems.
  • Support digitalization initiatives in engineering and operations, including monitoring, predictive maintenance, and system optimization tools.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing engineering organization, providing technical leadership and supporting capability development across subsidiaries.
  • Participate in investment planning and asset development, providing expert input on design feasibility, risk assessment, and system optimization.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and innovation within the engineering community.

Nasze wymagania

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Energy Systems, Industrial, or related field).
  • 10+ years of experience in energy generation, district heating, or industrial infrastructure projects, ideally across design, operations, or project delivery.
  • Proven leadership in multi-disciplinary engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, control systems).
  • Strong understanding of thermal generation technologies, CHP systems, boilers, turbines, and heat distribution networks.
  • Experience developing technical standards, design specifications, and engineering governance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy integration, such as biomass, waste heat recovery, or heat pumps.
  • Experience using digital engineering tools (SCADA, plant modeling, simulation, digital twins).
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance innovation, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Excellent stakeholder and influencing skills—able to align teams across subsidiaries and functions.
  • Fluent English
  • Valid driving license and readiness for regular travel.

As Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for defining and delivering the technical vision, standards, and execution across all energy infrastructure projects. You will ensure that our systems are designed, built, integrated, and operated to the highest technical, performance, and compliance standards. A key part of your work will be guiding our coal exit transition, ensuring assets are decommissioned or replaced in line with strategy, and developing the engineering capability across our group.
