Global Defense Engineering is responsible for fielding solutions that help defend HSBC against a wide range of threats to the business as well as its customers, clients, partners, and staff. The team works in concert, with partner teams across HSBC, to implement novel defensive capabilities that are effective and adaptable against a constantly evolving threat landscape. The function operates under the vision: “Enabling HSBC to be safely successful everywhere the firm chooses to do business". The Head of Cloud cryptography reports to the Head of cryptography.
responsibilities :
Identify and drive opportunities to improve security posture based on an understanding of current control and technology environment.
Ensure a high quality of work and on time delivery by consistently taking responsibility for ones own work, reviewing it against quality standards, and consistently seeking to achieve zero quality errors.
Consistently seek to achieve the set quality benchmark and support more junior team members in achieving the same.

Support implementation of identified corrective and preventive actions to resolve issues.
Develop and maintain relationships within the Cybersecurity Security teams.
Develop and maintain relationships with other key internal stakeholder groups such as Resilience Risk and Connectivity.
Collaborate with colleagues both within and outside the team to share best practices and provide leadership and guidance to more junior team members.
requirements-expected :
Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Directly related work experience may be substituted for a degree.
Demonstrated experience in information security, with a focus on cryptographic services.
Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing cryptography solutions in a large organization, preferably within the financial sector or aerospace/defence industry.
Experience with HSMs, general cryptography management and/or engineering and PKI fundamentals.
Strong understanding of cryptographic principles, algorithms, and protocols.
Experience with cloud-based cryptography solutions and integration with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards related to PKI and information security.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
