Our Client is a fast‑growing consumer goods company with strong ambitions to redefine how commercial organizations work. Their success is built not only on great products, but on collaboration, agility, and the ability to turn insight into action across the entire commercial ecosystem.

We are now looking for a Head of Commercial Excellence – a senior leader who will shape how we sell, not just what we sell. This is a strategic role with a clear mission to connect commercial support functions, break down organizational silos, and create true synergy across teams that enable sales.

You will bring together Trade Marketing, Category Management, CRM and related functions into one coherent Commercial Excellence agenda. Your success will be measured not only by frameworks and processes, but by real changes in behaviour, collaboration, and decision‑making across the organisation.

This role is for a leader who gets things moving, challenges entrenched ways of working, and knows how to influence people beyond formal reporting lines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and lead an integrated Commercial Excellence function, aligning trade marketing, category management, CRM and sales enablement.
  • Act as a bridge between strategy and execution, ensuring commercial initiatives translate into real impact in the field.
  • Break down functional, informational and social silos across the organisation.
  • Drive cross‑functional collaboration and foster a culture of shared ownership and accountability.
  • Lead and support change initiatives, helping teams adopt new ways of working.
  • Partner closely with the Board and senior leadership to shape long‑term commercial strategy.
  • Identify and unlock synergies across teams, tools, data and processes.
  • Serve as a role model for modern, inclusive and impact‑driven leadership.

You are someone who:

  • Has a proven ability to change how organisations work, not just design concepts.
  • Naturally challenges silos and builds trust across functions.
  • Can influence without authority and bring people with you through change.
  • Thinks long‑term but acts pragmatically.
  • Combines strategic perspective with hands‑on leadership.

Experience & Background

  • Senior leadership experience in FMCG is ideal, but we are open to candidates from product‑focused companies.
  • Strong exposure to commercial functions such as trade marketing, category management, CRM or sales enablement.
  • Experience working in complex, matrixed or large organisations.
  • Track record of leading transformation or cross‑functional initiatives.
