The organization serves major retail chains, convenience formats, quick‑service restaurants, bakeries and the foodservice sector. Its European Business Service Center plays a central role in driving the company’s growth strategy by supporting decision‑making, ensuring efficient operational processes and strengthening internal controls.

This role will assist Global Category Management in various procurement activities, ensuring efficient processes and maintaining strong vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will be proactive and skilled in communication, with a focus on supporting procurement efforts across the organisation.

This position bridges an administrative support role with practical local buying responsibilities to ensure procurement efficiency, compliance, and savings realisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Global Category Management Support: Work with internal teams to gather requirements, align on procurement strategies, prepare Tender/RFx documents, create standard reports, and maintain accurate procurement data. Handle local sourcing and contracting within delegated authority.
  • Vendor & Market Support: Assist with vendor communication, basic market intelligence, and vendor evaluation to ensure strong supplier performance.
  • Contract Administration: Support creation and management of contracts (e.g., NDAs, COC, SFA), monitor compliance and renewals, and track signing processes.
  • Claims Management: Support assessment and resolution of supplier claims, escalating issues to Category Managers when necessary.
  • P2P Processes: Support Purchase-to-Pay activities, including resolving invoice mismatches and ensuring accurate supplier data.
  • Projects & Initiatives: Contribute to procurement projects, savings tracking, and reporting.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization and help standardize procurement practices.
  • Operational Procurement Support: Handle PR/PO follow-up, basic negotiations, quote comparisons, and local supplier coordination (deliveries, confirmations, minor claims). Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Finance on material planning and budgeting.
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in procurement, with a strong understanding of sourcing and contract management.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with diverse stakeholder groups, including global category management, local supply chain, and finance departments.
  • High accountability for your work with a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong focus on process improvements, standardisation, and harmonisation.
  • High competence in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; familiarity with SAP is essential.
  • Experience in process transition projects is a plus.
  • Fluency in both English and German is required.
