We are hiring Group Leaders in Molecular, Cell, and Chemical Biology

The International Institute of Molecular Mechanisms and Machines, Polish Academy of Sciences (IMol) seeks candidates for the positions of Group Leaders. We are looking for dynamic group leaders to establish independent research groups and to develop ambitious and innovative research programmes, complementing the existing research at IMol. We encourage outstanding researchers, both early-career and already established, to apply for the post.

IMol is a new, dynamically developing research institute, offering a stimulating and interdisciplinary research environment and research opportunities at the large biomedical campus in Warsaw. IMol laboratories are based in a new, attractive location at Flanders Business Park, Flisa Street 6, Warsaw. The new positions can start anytime. The new research groups will be expected to secure extramural, national, and/or international funding.

Successful candidates will have:

• PhD degree in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, biomedicine, medicinal and biological chemistry, bioinformatics, machine learning, biophysics, chemistry or similar, with adequate post-doctoral experience. • Outstanding record of scientific achievements reflected by publication record,
• The original and independent research programme,
• Strong leadership complemented by the ability to collaborate,
• Research in the bioinformatics field will be an additional asset.

• Description of 1-3 most important scientific achievements (max. 2 pages),
• Summary of the applicant’s future research plans (max. 2 pages),

The results of the first stage of recruitment will be distributed at the beginning of February 2026. Short-listed candidates will be invited for the second stage of recruitment, comprising a presentation at an internal IMol mini-symposium, followed by an interview to be held on March 9-10th, 2026 , during the IMol Scientific Board meeting.
