Prepare and review accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
Manage the month‑end and year‑end closing process, including reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.
Oversee cost accounting activities, including tracking manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, and analyzing variances (e.g., standard vs. actual costs).
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or process improvements.
General Ledger & Operations
Maintain the integrity of the General Ledger (GL), ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and classified.
Supervise and manage the Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and fixed assets functions.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll in coordination with the HR department.
Manage bank reconciliations and maintain optimal cash flow reporting.
Compliance & Internal Controls
Ensure strict adherence to local tax regulations (VAT, corporate income tax, etc.) and timely filing of all required tax returns.
Coordinate and manage external audits, serving as the primary liaison.
Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure reliability of financial data.
Stay updated on changes in accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and manage the accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and professional development.
Allocate tasks and review the work of subordinates to ensure high‑quality output.
Prepare the company for annual audit.
The Successful Applicant
Certification:Accountant or equivalent professional designation is highly preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2‑3 years in a chief accountant role (not necessarily in production).
Technical Skills:
knowledge of local GAAP and local tax legislation. Knowledge of IFRS- an advantage.
Strong proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
Solid understanding of cost accounting principles specific to production/inventory.
Language: fluency in Polish and English (reading, writing, and speaking)
