  • Prepare and review accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing process, including reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Oversee cost accounting activities, including tracking manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, and analyzing variances (e.g., standard vs. actual costs).
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or process improvements.
  • General Ledger & Operations
  • Maintain the integrity of the General Ledger (GL), ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and classified.
  • Supervise and manage the Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and fixed assets functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll in coordination with the HR department.
  • Manage bank reconciliations and maintain optimal cash flow reporting.
  • Compliance & Internal Controls
  • Ensure strict adherence to local tax regulations (VAT, corporate income tax, etc.) and timely filing of all required tax returns.
  • Coordinate and manage external audits, serving as the primary liaison.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure reliability of financial data.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and professional development.
  • Allocate tasks and review the work of subordinates to ensure high-quality output.
  • Prepare the company for annual audit

Profile

  • Certification: Accountant or equivalent professional designation is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a chief accountant role (not necessarily in production).
  • Technical Skills:
  • knowledge of local GAAP and local tax legislation. Knowledge of IFRS- an advantage.
  • Strong proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Solid understanding of cost accounting principles specific to production/inventory.
  • Language: fluency in Polish and English (reading, writing, and speaking)
