Ground Segment Project Manager for Earth Observation Missions

Your responsibilities

• Supervision of design, development and delivery of integrated Ground Segment for key national satellites missions;
• Management of complex system consisting of Flight Operations System, Payload Data Processing System and Missions Operations System;
• Vendors management in domain of software delivery and hardware infrastructure; responsibility for SoW definition; vendors and partners performance monitoring;
• Close cooperation with technical leaders in fields of requirements definition and management, interfaces management between systems elements, tests planning and tests execution;
• Monitoring project progress and ensuring compliance with budget and schedule; collaborating with relevant stakeholders to address required changes to the project budget, scope and timeline (where appropriate);
• Co-creating requirements, high level architecture and project documentation (reports, procedures);
• Working in close collaboration with Project Technical Officer and Ground Segment Architect, including responsibility for key strategic decisions affecting project scope, timeline and budget;
• Reporting project status, risks, opportunities, and KPIs to the Director of the Space Projects Management;
• Verifying the quality of project documentation and ensuring compliance with the specified standards and contractual conditions;
• Collaborating with the QA team to ensure the quality of produced systems;
• Coordinating formal project reviews (including involvement of client representatives).

Our requirements

• Experience in at least one of domains: satellite image processing, payload data processing, satellite mission operations/ mission control, satellite flight dynamics;
• At least 4 years of project management experience in the software development/IT networking;
• Experience managing at least one project with total budget exceeding 2MEUR;
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g. ECSS, PMI and/or PRINCE2);
• Excellent organization of personal work and project team tasks;
• Communication and negotiation skills;
• Leadership, responsibility, and the ability to build and maintain good relationships at various levels;
• Fluent proficiency in English, enabling smooth communication, documentation preparation, and presentations.
• Experience with contracts from the European Space Agency;
• Higher education in computer sciences, space sciences, aeronautical engineering, electronics, remote sensing, GIS or related fields;
• Previous experience in role of system architect;
• Experience managing multiple projects in the international environment;
• Experience managing projects as prime contractor or integrator;
• Advanced knowledge of agile methodologies (AGILE SCRUM) and tools;
• Advanced knowledge of task management programs (JIRA, Redmine, Asana).
