Global Risk Director – Head of the Global Risk Centre of Excellence

Aon is seeking a senior leader to join our Krakow team. This hybrid position allows working virtually or from the Krakow office and reports to the Aon Global Chief Compliance Officer.

What the Day Will Look Like

  • Assist the Global Chief Compliance Officer with all aspects of enterprise risk management.
  • Support preparation of the annual risk plan for Aon.
  • Manage the Global Risk Committee structure and governance.
  • Analyse risk reporting to provide an enterprise view of Aon’s key risks, trends, appetite, and mitigation activities.
  • Develop Board and Executive Committee reporting as required.
  • Partner with Risk Officers to implement Aon’s risk assessment process.
  • Own the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, including design, implementation, and change management.
  • Oversee escalation processes for non‑standard risks within the ERM framework.
  • Maintain ERM artefacts—creation, version control, and publishing.
  • Develop the Global Risk Aon Avenue page.
  • Build and develop the Centre of Excellence risk team.
  • Monitor market dynamics to anticipate emerging risks.

Skills and Experience

  • Master’s degree in risk management, business studies, or related discipline.
  • Experience in a financial services environment in compliance, risk or internal audit roles with corporate governance focus.
  • Previous people‑management and team‑leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and leadership skills.
  • High drive, enthusiasm, commitment, and professional work ethic.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to flex priorities quickly in response to senior stakeholder requirements.
  • Strong organisational, project‑management, and execution abilities.
  • Effective relationship building and network development across a complex organisation.
  • Motivated to work autonomously.
  • Knowledge of Aon structures and solutions is desirable.
