Were seeking a dynamic, self‑starting product strategy leader to translate bold Commercial Brand Strategy into operational excellence across the Novartis Operations value chain. In this high‑impact role, you’ll own end‑to‑end product strategy and partner with senior leaders to ensure cost‑effective, reliable supply throughout the full product lifecycle.

In this role you will develop and drive the Novartis Operations Product Strategy to realize the Commercial Brand Strategy and optimize performance along the Novartis Operations value chain by managing complexity, driving product strategic decisions with senior management and Novartis Operations to ensure cost‑effective, reliable supply across the lifecycle of a product.

You will have end‑to‑end accountability for all product‑related aspects and can make or propose the right enterprise tradeoffs; you will act as single point of contact for the product for robust, timely, high‑quality supply, issue resolution and crisis management, and ultimately lead in the cost evolution of the brand with Novartis Operations Manufacturing Sites.

About The Role

Major Accountabilities

  • Defines and executes the Product Supply Strategy, Life‑Cycle Management Strategy, Supply Risk Management and Product Roadmap to ensure robust, high quality and on‑time supply together with cross‑functional teams in Operations such as SCM, QA, MST and beyond with Commercial and Development.
  • Has end‑to‑end accountability for all product related aspects and can make and propose the right enterprise tradeoffs.
  • Product strategy representative within Operations, end‑to‑end interface and team member towards business franchises (Commercial, GPT/GBT Global Program Team/Global Brand Team), Global Drug Development and Global Drug Regulatory Affairs.
  • Lead cross‑functional product team in a matrix organization across Operations, Development and Business.
  • Implements and leads the Cost Leadership programme focusing on efficiency gains, complexity reduction, supply network optimisation and business continuity.
  • Leads the Supply Chain evaluation for supply point decisions, focusing on high complexity and NME/NBE launch (SPB).
  • Liaises with product manufacturing sites, ensuring optimal site and volume allocation, drug substance manufacture, DP filling, packaging, device assembly, launch and commercialisation.
  • Reports manufacturing status and issues in case of arising crisis to respective management boards, facilitating proactive communication and timely decision making; coordinates escalations and resolutions for major deviations, crisis management and acts as interface for the product in the Divisional S&OP for the relevant products.

Obligatory Requirements

  • Education: University master’s degree in economics, business or a technical discipline, science or medicine. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of working experience in local, regional and global functions with at least 5 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a leadership position.
  • Excellent and proven leadership skills in various cultural and diverse environments.
  • Consolidated supply‑chain, strategy and financial background.
  • Proven business acumen, judgement and track record of successfully leading cross‑divisional and cross‑functional strategic projects.
  • Strong influencing skills across all stakeholder groups.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex transformations, integrations and change management.
  • Ability to work and thrive in highly ambiguous environments with ever‑changing priorities.
  • Excellent analytical skills (problem structuring and problem solving), able to handle complex analyses.
  • Languages: English – fluent written and spoken; additional languages a plus.

Desirable Requirements

  • Solid experience in business administration, commercial operations, business process analysis and transformation/reengineering (e.g., as a consultant).
