Overview

The Fund Tax team provides global tax compliance and advisory support for Franklin Templeton’s investment funds. It oversees tax compliance and reporting activities for Franklin Templeton funds, including the oversight of tax services provided by third-party providers. The team reviews and implements new tax laws and changes, performs tax analysis, and works with external tax advisors, auditors, and internal stakeholders to ensure regulatory alignment and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Review investor tax reporting and oversee fund tax compliance activities, including management of capital gains and withholding tax matters.
• Perform tax analysis related to new product structures and complex transactions.
• Monitor tax law changes and assess their impact; communicate tax issues to internal stakeholders.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on fund taxation and engage with external advisors and industry associations on tax matters.
• Develop and maintain internal tax policies and identify/address risk events.
• Lead research on new tax regulations and instruments; drive process improvements using digital tools.
• Lead change initiatives within Fund Tax; oversee third-party tax providers and review/approve external tax filings.
• Represent Fund Tax in technical committees and mentor new team members to promote knowledge sharing; build relationships with tax teams to influence outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience, Education & Certifications
• Degree in accounting, law, taxation, or related field.
• Experience in fund taxation or public accounting.
• CPA, CA, or legal certification preferred.
• Technical Skills: strong tax research and analysis skills; project management and multitasking ability; ability to present complex tax issues clearly.
• Soft Skills: strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to influence internal and external stakeholders; relationship-building across departments.

Work Environment

Shift: 8:30-17:00 or 18:00 depending on business needs.
