Arabelle Solutions is a leading provider of nuclear power plant technology, delivering turbine islands, pumps, generators, heat exchangers, and more for commercial reactors including SMRs. With over six decades of experience, we supply comprehensive turbine island solutions for projects ranging from 50 MWe to 1,900 MWe.
We are seeking an experienced Global Claims Leader to lead, manage, and coordinate claims across our large and complex power plant projects and drive commercial, financial, and scheduling targets. This role is part of the Contract Management Function.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop project‑specific claim strategies in collaboration with Commercial Project Managers and ensure implementation.
- Lead a team of Claim Managers, managing current and future claims.
- Define and update clauses and procedures for Project/Subcontract Claims.
- Work with planners/schedulers to optimize project schedules for potential claims.
- Identify and mitigate claim‑related risk and opportunities.
- Own claim management process and tools, improving commercial awareness across the organization.
- Identify gaps and close them, implementing effective record‑keeping, storage and access processes.
- Provide tools, best practices and training to project teams.
- Meet claim objectives for schedule delay, productivity, labor/material cost escalation, design issues and contract interpretation.
- Manage claims across multiple regions and jurisdictions in partnership with legal, planning, insurance, tax, finance, etc.
- Prepare, negotiate and settle claims with customers, consortium partners, insurers, subcontractors and suppliers; defend claims against our organization.
- Build claim‑specific action plans and run them to closure.
- Lead external law firms and consultants where necessary.
- Perform comprehensive contractual and delay analysis, prepare cause‑and‑effect charts, assess costs, and recommend fault allocation.
- Present claim analysis, findings and opinions to stakeholders and support contract close‑out sessions.
- Prepare early case assessments for dispute resolution proceedings.
- Maintain claim filing systems and registers.
- Lead Claim Review Boards with senior executives for major claims.
- Report claim progress, settlement estimates and outcomes to leadership.
- Deliver training to project teams on claims management, procedures and tools.
- Capture return on experience and implement lessons learned.
Qualifications
- University degree in Contract Management, Business or Law.
- Minimum 10 years of international project/ construction claim or contract management experience.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in claim management.
- Experience with dispute resolution proceedings and associated methodologies.
- Expertise in delay analysis and quantum techniques and calculating productivity losses.
- Strong track record of cost and time claim preparation and settlement.
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
- Broad commercial knowledge across disciplines.
- Ability to interpret construction contracts, drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in EPC project contracts and contract law principles.
- Strong ability to lead, influence and motivate a team, even without direct reporting line.
- Advanced MS‑Windows, Word, Excel and other Office applications.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Enjoy working in international teams.
Desired Additional Qualifications
- Professional certification (ICC, IMI, RICS, IDRRMI or similar).
- Existing network of forensic planning and quantum experts.
- Project Management experience and/or professional registration.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of nuclear power plant characteristics and project development.
- Open to criticism, able to handle conflicts.
- Cultural awareness and teamwork orientation.
- Primavera P6 scheduling capabilities.
- Additional French language skills.
Position Features
- Permanent contract (CDI).
- Multiple locations possible: Nanterre, Belfort, Rugby (UK), Baden (Switzerland), or Warsaw (Poland).
- Senior management status.
- Compensation on 13 months.
