For our client, we are looking for a Global Category Manager - IT Products . You will be a member of a procurement organization, which is currently undergoing a transformation to increase its maturity, professionalism, and capabilities across indirect spend categories and geographies. A new vision and strategy for procurement has been developed, resulting in a new global procurement operating model being implemented within the organization. A key part of this new operating model is related to new talent, particularly in the new Global Category Lead roles. These roles are essential for the new operating model and form a critical success factor for the procurement transformation.

Role Responsibilities

• The global category lead role within the organization will have a far-reaching global mandate related to the category and accountability across the processes in the scope of the category.
• The role takes a holistic, macro view of the category of IT Hardware & Telecom and manages it from a strategic life-cycle perspective. This category will typically cover desktops, laptops, monitors, accessories, multi-functional copier devices, AV equipment/services, mobile phone devices/subscriptions, and classic telephony services including those attributable to office reception solutions.
• The holistic view extends from demand management to category strategy development to management of all sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management related to the category. In other words, from identifying value to capturing value and sustaining value.
• The strategy development scope includes supplier-, sourcing-, contract-, pricing-, and purchasing strategies.
• The life-cycle perspective extends 3-5 years into the future.
• The global category lead will serve as a business partner to the business, be a good relationship builder, and have the ability to combine procurement, business, and technical (category-specific) as well as strategic, tactical, and operational considerations.

What We Expect

• University-level degree in IT, engineering, economics or similar.
• Approximately 10 years of experience in (international) procurement function and category management within IT Hardware & Telecom experience will be an advantage.
• Have domain knowledge related to the IT Hardware & Telecom category and a general understanding of the IT Hardware & Telecom market (dynamics, characteristics, practices, intelligence, and supplier and contract structures).
• An end-to-end understanding of spend management/category management.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Attention to detail and deadlines while maintaining focus on the larger picture.
• Performance driven, have a strong interest in commercial aspects, engaged, curious, and possess a high level of professionalism as well as personal integrity.
• Possess business understanding and customer mindset and can interact with various stakeholders.
• Effective in utilizing Microsoft suite of programs and understanding of purchase to pay software (e.g. Basware Cloud, SAP, Oracle).
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
