YOU WILL
- Ensuring compliance with VAT regulations: This includes staying updated on VAT laws and regulations to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with tax authorities.
- VAT accounting: Recording VAT transactions in the general ledger, including input VAT (taxes paid on purchases) and output VAT (taxes collected on sales).
- VAT reconciliation: Reconciling VAT accounts to ensure accuracy and identifying any discrepancies that need to be resolved.
- VAT reporting: Preparing and submitting VAT returns and related filings to tax authorities in a timely manner.
- Providing VAT advice: Offering guidance to internal stakeholders on VAT matters, including the tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
- Supporting audits: Assisting with VAT audits by providing documentation and explanations of VAT transactions as requested by tax authorities.
- Supporting all aspects of GL monthly/quarterly/annual close activities.
- Leveraging strong relationships with other finance and non-finance teams, as well as external providers, to maintain and update shared processes, tools, and reporting activities.
- Ensure adherence of processes to companys policies and procedures, internal and external audit requirements and local rules and regulations.
- Supporting strengthening of financial processes and controls.
- Supporting local, regional, and global projects, as required.
- Be an active advocate of finance function.
- Maintain focus on continuous process improvement.
YOU NEED
- Bachelor’s / master’s degree in finance / accounting.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in MS Office, in particular Excel (reporting, data analysis, etc.).
- Fluent in spoken and written English – knowledge of other languages (French, German, Italian, Dutch) will be an advantage.
- Experienced in working in an international environment.
- Experienced in working in the SSC / BSC.
- Ability to solve problems and propose improvements.
- Ability to work as a part of a team.
- Disciplined and well organized - able to meet deadlines.
- Ready to work in a dynamically developing organization.
- Due to regional scope, an ability and willingness to travel internationally might be required, and at a critical time (e.g., month-end) additional hours may be necessary (also, and on an exceptional basis, the role may require work on public holidays).
