Global Finance Services operates GSKs global finance processes, delivering our ambition for patients through best-in-class finance services (P2P, C&C, O2C and TPF). This role reports directly into the GFSLT role of Global Head of Experience and Engagement and will be responsible for the design and delivery of our Continuous Improvement Mentoring strategy across our processes globally. The role leads a team of 3 direct reports and an overall team size of 5.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the design and delivery of GFS CI Mentoring programme to deliver our Ahead Together priority of a new way of working across GFS teams globally.
- Define the approach to initial CI bootcamp for all GFS teams, and the ongoing mentoring programme to ensure the definition and embedding of a CI mindset in our GFS process delivery teams in all locations. The role is critical to the delivery of impactful initiatives including:
- Embedding our #AheadTogether culture and defining GFS culture of continuous improvement, service delivery and user experience.
- Identifying what GFS people need to thrive in CI and the resulting interventions designed and delivered globally across our teams.
- Identifying and working with the Engagement & Experience lead and other Enabling Teams leaders to embed the use of CI governance and tooling across GFS.
- Working with their peers to develop and embed CI Communities across our global locations to reinforce the CI mindset.
- In addition holding hub specific CI mentoring accountability as below:
- Responsible for developing the delivery of in hub CI Mentoring from the CI mentor locally (and providing the CI mentoring in the Poznan hub) and CI specialist in each location.
- Oversee programs to build employee awareness, knowledge, and engagement in CI through thoughtful, innovative ideas strengthening one Finance and company’s culture.
- Develop the CI specialists and coach them to achieve Black Belt status by end 2025.
- Continuously developing self and supporting others:
- Lead own team and develop them so that they are engaged and able to thrive in their roles; actively contribute and be responsible for the Thriving People Strategy and related delivery plans to support GSK’s ambition to be a place where all our people can thrive.
- Act as a critical friend and adviser to peers across all elements of the continuous improvement agenda.
- Act as coach and mentor to GFS people for CI.
- Develop individuals and manage key talent ensuring no drop in service as staff move on.
- Provide regular, quality feedback that helps team members learn and grow their capability - Understand what support teams need in order to be truly empowered and energized.
- Champion processes that ensure the quality of the talent pipeline in the organization.
- Continuously identifying ways to simplify and improve activities across all of our processes:
- Constantly strive for performance improvements.
- Challenge the status quo/accepted ways of doing things.
- Bring simple, clear focus to the key drivers of performance.
- Embed disciplined, rigorous and systematic ways to monitor and improve performance.
- Define the right capabilities in the organization and ensure they are built/developed to deliver our strategy.
- Putting the customer/patients at the heart of every decision:
- Build quality relationships with senior stakeholders and customers to truly understand their needs and how GFS can support them to deliver for our patients.
- Responsible for delivering GFS’ approach to Experience Engagement aligned to the GSK direction.
- Contribute to Global GSK thought leadership on CI.
- Make the connection to the customer clear when communicating business decisions or improvements.
Requirements:
- University Graduate - Post graduate qualification in Continuous Improvement recognized methodology eg. Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt.
- Business acumen and leading across a matrix organization.
- Strong team leadership experience.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels across the organization.
- Experience working with client groups with ability to influence and challenge stakeholders at senior levels.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and across a matrix environment - Strong team building and influencing skills.
- Ability to establish a high level of credibility and forge strong working relationships with senior internal and third-party stakeholders.
Preferred experience:
- Significant experience working in a large global matrixed organization.
- Healthcare/ Pharmaceutical Industry.
- Experience of working with and delivering results with outsourced providers.
- Demonstrated risk management, process improvement, and project and change management skills, user experience and design thinking.
