General Ledger Chief Accountant

Your responsibilities

• General Ledger accounting (stand-alone)
• Preparing monthly/quarterly/annual stand-alone financial reports to internal and external parties (banks, auditors)
• Analyzing financial data (balance sheet and profit and loss accounts) and commenting on significant period to period variances and trends
• Ensuring accuracy, timeliness and completeness of all related tasks like intrastate, VAT, GUS, and other statistics
• Communicating with CE plants and Global Business Service in Portugal
• Readiness to participate in special projects to improve efficiency, quality and accuracy of work performed within financial processes
• Ensuring adherence to all established procedures, best practices and internal controls

Our requirements

• At least 3-4 years of relevant experience in full general ledger accounting or group accounting, or audit background
• Primary degree in a finance or accounting related discipline
• A strong understanding of accounting practices and standards aligned with local GAAP
• Computer literate with strong Excel skills
• Fluency in English essential
• Driving license and availability to travel
• Highly organized, detail orientated
• Positive attitude
• Proactive and self-motivated
• Knowledge of German
• Experience in SAP
