We are seeking a highly motivated and detail‑oriented General Ledger Accountant to join our finance team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and providing critical support in month‑end processes while ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, excellent problem‑solving skills, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain General Ledger Accounts: Ensure the proper maintenance and accuracy of all general ledger accounts, including posting journal entries and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Month‑End and Year‑End Close: Actively participate in the month‑end and year‑end closing processes, including preparing and maintaining financial reports, accrual calculations and reviews, ensuring all entries are recorded correctly and in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Account Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to verify and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Payroll journals booking, corrections, and reconciliations, including involvement in resolving issues for various entities, and cooperation with the payroll team as well as the external payroll providers.
  • Accounting entries: Preparation and recording of accounting adjustments, including addressing one‑off accounting issues and making data‑driven amendments as needed.
  • Audit: Support external audits by providing requested information and addressing any audit queries.
  • Financial statements: Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements, including collaboration with external advisors and preparation of supporting schedules.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting and accounting procedures.
  • Cross‑Department Collaboration: Collaborate with other teams, such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Financial Planning & Analysis, to provide financial insights and support organizational initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in an accounting/finance role, with General Ledger experience a must.
  • Strong accounting expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of accruals, payroll, fixed assets accounting, and month‑end close processes.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel.
  • IFRS and financial statements knowledge is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Netsuite is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across various finance departments.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong command of English language.
