General Ledger Accountant

Your responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and complete general ledger accounts, ensuring correct accounting and tax treatment of transactions.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, deferrals, adjustments, and tax-related postings.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including balance sheet reconciliations and analytical review of profit and loss accounts.
• Ensure transactions are recorded in line with accounting standards, internal policies, and tax requirements.
• Reconcile general ledger and tax accounts, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare financial data and supporting documentation for statutory reporting, tax filings, audits, and internal reviews.
• Monitor changes in accounting and tax regulations and support their implementation in daily accounting processes.
• Support continuous improvement of accounting and tax processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

Employer requirements

• University degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of professional experience in general ledger accounting, preferably within a Shared Service Centre environment.
• Practical experience with VAT-related activities, including preparation or support of VAT reporting.
• Strong working knowledge of ERP systems, advanced Microsoft Excel skills for reconciliations and analysis.
• Full professional proficiency in English Language.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
• Good organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
• Proactive, solution-oriented mindset and clear, professional communication skills in an international working environment.
