General Accountant

Role overview

The General Accountant is the gatekeeper of financial results to the local entity. Ensure quality and timely delivery for Carlsberg Shared Services’ accounting, providing financial transparency across the organization. The main responsibilities are month-end closing processes, tax and statutory reporting, and supporting financial planning in agreed timelines.

What you’ll be doing

• Support in assuring correct transactional data in SAP (check data, identify problems, conduct process improvement to overcome root causes);
• Conduct financial reporting to the Group;
• Cooperate with the Management Team;
• Work closely with various stakeholders across Carlsberg Group to ensure quality delivery of services;
• Conduct Statutory reporting and prepare Polish financial statements;
• Ensure compliance of local activities: cooperation with external institutions (US, Central Statistical Office, National Bank of Poland);
• Play a key role in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes;
• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, new technology rollouts, and process design activities;
• Manage the team’s collective knowledge through preparing and updating process documentation and tracking progress of tax-relevant projects and initiatives;
• Balance Sheet reconciliation improvement and analysis.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who:

• Has worked in Finance before, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in shared services/business process outsourcing and an educational background in corporate finance;
• Has 3+ years of operational experience in Finance and/or Accounting;
• Has experience in IFRS and Polish GAAP environment;
• Has worked in, and enjoys working in a diverse, international environment;
• Presents strong knowledge of projects or process management methods;
• Has a full understanding and knowledge of financial processes;
• Understands tax and Polish statutory requirements;
• Demonstrates natural communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude;
• Has an excellent command of written and spoken English;
• Navigates easily in the Office365 environment and has advanced hands-on knowledge of MS Excel;
• Has previously worked with SAP, Blackline, and HFM.
