Functional Lead – Back Office Transformation (Banking / Asset Management)

Location

Germany (travel to Munich twice per month, 3 days each visit)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Functional Lead to support a major Back Office Transformation Program within a Banking or Asset Management environment.

This role requires deep operational expertise combined with leadership experience in transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will act as a bridge between Business Operations and Technology teams, ensuring that Back Office processes are effectively redesigned and implemented within modernized platforms and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead functional workstreams within a Back Office Transformation Program

• Provide subject matter expertise across Back Office domains, including:

  • Static Data

  • Transaction Management

  • Settlements

  • Regulatory & Operational Reporting

• Collaborate closely with Technology teams during system and process transformation

• Drive requirements clarification and functional alignment

• Support implementation and change activities

• Act as senior advisor to stakeholders across Business and IT

Required Experience

• 10+ years of experience within Banking or Asset Management Back Office operations

• Strong functional understanding of Static Data, Settlements, Transaction Management, and Reporting

• Proven leadership experience in transformation or large-scale change programs

• Experience working closely with Technology teams on system or platform transformations

• Fluent German (C1+ level)

• Willingness to travel to Munich twice per month (3 days each time)

• Functional analysis experience

• Technical background or strong IT collaboration exposure
