Our client has over 20 years of experience in handling large video files, they provide end-to-end video solutions for patient assessments in Clinical Trials. Utilizing their intuitive software, user-friendly filming kits, and facial redaction services, enables clinicians, investigators and sponsors to record, share, review, and submit video assessments to regulatory bodies securely and compliantly.

Their teams are small, Agile, and cross-functional so you can expect to interact with stakeholders across the SDLC, as a Software Engineer you will be focused on building a holistic approach to development, quality, maintainability, and production support. Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Software Engineer who can embrace change, pays attention to detail, and enjoys solving technical challenges at all levels.

Our client follows the TOIL framework for the progression of all of their engineers, this covers Technical, Ownership, Impact, and Leadership, the level of the role offered also encompasses your current level of experience in those areas from Junior to Senior.

  • Maintaining and owning the code, quality, and delivery.
  • Owning delivery of services and features within the team
  • Collaborating within a cross-functional team across the SDLC
  • Following and improving the team processes
  • Supporting junior members of the team (where applicable)
  • Development of new features for the company’s core applications
  • Maintaining (enhancing features and fixing bugs) of existing applications – Identify and implement improvements (where applicable)
  • Development of new supporting applications and systems to ensure good operation of the company’s business and operational needs.
  • To assist in the creation of company development standards in conjunction with ISO 27001 and to ensure that they are adhered to.
  • Identifying possible security weaknesses within the company’s applications or development procedures.
  • Perform PR Reviews with constructive feedback
  • Minimise security threats and maintain data integrity in all work
  • Test code prior to deployment and assist in recommending a test framework for code development
  • To respond to bug reports in a timely way and to fix bugs as quickly as possible with particular urgency given to critical bugs
  • To produce technical and user documentation to accompany the development
  • To adopt industry best practices where applicable and to adhere to standards devised within the company
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate development activities
  • Recommend possible enhancements to optimize processes through continuous improvement


Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in software development
  • STEM Degree would be advantageous but non-essential
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Experience of React, HTML5, CSS3 & Javascript
  • Programming/scripting experience in Ruby, or another scripting language
  • Working with and designing (micro)services – Experience writing automated tests
  • Experience in version control (Github/GitLab) – Experience working in scrum and agile methodologies
  • Experience working in an Agile framework (Kanban / Scrum)
  • Experienced user of Jira and Confluence
  • Communication and presentation skills, it’s key that you can research an idea and convey your conclusion with solid reasoning
  • Interpersonal skills and patience.
