Traded Risk IT is an important global functional unit responsible for delivering risk management IT solutions to support all HSBC’s regions and Traded Risk business lines, ensuring that risk performance is in accordance with the Group Risk Strategy. As a provider of banking and financial services, risk is at the core of HSBC’s day-to-day activities. Actively managing risk covers a wide range of activities from identifying and analysing current and emerging risks, to embedding risk appetite, enhancing our controls, strengthening our risk management capabilities and much more. 

HSBC and Traded Risk IT are heavily investing in an Agile culture with adoption of DevOps processes, CI/CD pipeline and Cloud Technologies. Traded Risk IT is looking to initiate a brand new development team in Krakow in 2023 as part of a long term strategy to develop and support its platform in Europe.

We are looking for a senior development specialist to join the Traded Risk IT in Krakow, to drive new strategic platform delivery and project delivery in key areas of the Traded Risk functional area. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team in its early stages and make a key contribution.

What you’ll do

• Responsible for both the development and maintenance of SAGE with big data volume and online analytic capability.
• API and SDK design and development
• Work closely with BA, vendor and up/down stream IT teams on requirement analysis and solution design
• Adopt DevOps and Agile principles,
• Ensure test-driven development and close collaboration with team members in London, Hongkong and China(Guangzhou),
• Support the platform database: incident resolution, monitoring, problem management.

What you need to have to succeed in this role

• Qualification in Information Technology 
• Hands on experience on API and SDK design and development.
• Hands on experience of micro service development and maintenance
• Knowledge and experience in Agile and DevOps development practices 
• Able to provide innovative solutions to complex business problems.
• Self-motivated and willing to learn new technologies and business domain,
• Knowledge Java, Python, Spring Boot, Swagger, Cloud technologies: (GCP), container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Excellent communication skills,
