Job Overview

The Frontend Developer works within an agile team, typically including Business Analysts, UX/UI specialists, Solution Architects, Backend Developers, QA Engineers, and Scrum Masters (client-facing Project Manager). You will be responsible for building the ‘client-side’ of our web applications. You should be able to translate our company and customer needs into functional and appealing interactive applications. This role has a strong delivery component and is responsible for delivery of solutions in agile Sprints. The Frontend Developer should take ownership of their work, taking care to think about accessibility, reusability and maintainability.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Work with the User Experience team to effectively refine designs and wireframes
• Work with the Business Analyst to review and refine of User Stories
• Work with development team to effectively agree on end solution
• Technical review of the designs and estimation of delivery effort.
• Work in conjunction with the agile team to ensure successful delivery of the Sprint
• Implement agreed designs as “client-side” code (HTML, CSS, JS) as part of the design system.
• Write Wikis in Azure DevOps for delivered work
• Code reviews for pull requests
• Updating of Azure DevOps tasks status
• Implementation of modular designs system
• Resolution of assigned Issues
• Delivery of assigned work to a high quality
• Write technical documentation for delivered work
• Consider performance and security of implementations
• Diagnose and resolve faults in test or production environments
• Detailed technical review, planning and estimation for assigned user stories, as part of the agile scrum team
• Performing code review for your team members
• Cooperate closely with other team members such as: business analysts, design team, QA and project managers.

Desireable attributes and experience:

• Skill writing semantic, accessible and inclusive HTML and CSS/Sass
• At least 2 years commercial experience with front-end frameworks like React, Vue.js or Angular
• Experience in converting design files into markup
• Experience producing cross-browser, responsive layouts using progressive enhancement techniques.
• Experience using build tools for example WebPack and Gulp
• Knowledge of Nunjucks or other templating languages is an advantage
• A solid understanding of git, CI/CD and software development lifecycle tools such as Azure DevOps or similar.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies
