As Principal Analyst, Drug Substance Finance, you will play a pivotal role in enabling financial clarity and strategic insight across Moderna’s internal manufacturing footprint for Drug Substance operations, overseeing approximately $0.6 billion in associated spend. Based in Warsaw and functioning as an individual contributor, you will collaborate closely with the Global Drug Substance Operations team to manage site-level budgets, enhance analytics, and drive financial efficiency. Your work will shape how financial decisions are made at scale, including the costing of new programs, materials, and operational scenarios.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the development of annual budgets and reforecasting for internal Drug Substance manufacturing operations.
  • Monitoring and controlling budgets, forecasts, and expenditures across multiple DS sites and raw material categories.
  • Driving strategic financial analyses to support operational decision-making using ROI models and data-driven insights.
  • Designing and maintaining intuitive, digitized financial dashboards and datasets that inform the Global Drug Substance Leadership Team.
  • Delivering monthly reporting packages and insights to budget owners and site leadership teams, ensuring visibility of financial performance.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Supporting new program costing and scenario modeling related to manufacturing cost drivers and process changes.
  • Managing day-to-day purchase requisition approvals with precision and accountability.
  • Supporting accounting operations with spend-related accruals during month-end close to ensure timely and accurate expenditure recognition.
  • Challenging existing finance processes to improve flow of information and reduce friction, enhancing team-wide effectiveness.
  • Contributing to a continuous improvement culture by proposing and implementing best practices that improve analytical and reporting capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 5+ years of FP&A experience; Life Sciences industry experience preferred
  • Excellent English skills, both written and verbal

  • Detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy in reporting and data analysis
  • Adaptability and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities

  • High degree of initiative, proactiveness and problem-solving attitude
  • Experience with Tier 1 ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and financial planning and reporting tools is preferred
