We are looking for a Vessel Fleet Manager to support the company in the Europe region, working with sites and/or projects where the company has logistics responsibility.
As Fleet Manager you will be responsible for leading different vessel charters (covering Crew Transfer Vessel [CTV, Service Operation Vessel [SOV, various Survey Vessels and potentially supporting with Jack Up / Heavy Lift Barge activities) in your region. You will manage the vessel contracts from signature to end of contract and support marine assurance topics in the region.
What You’ll Make An Impact
- Handle Marine Assurance activities of all assigned vessels (Europe).
- Lead the implementation of the companys quality, safety and environmental policy on board the vessels. Liaise with HSE to ensure all safety standards are met across the fleet.
- Monitor vessel/contractor performance through daily reports, vessel performance data, HSE reports/observations and regular partners meetings.
- Supervise vessel condition through regular on-board inspections and coordinate major repairs.
- Keep the Logistics Program Manager, Operations Management and Regional Management updated regularly about vessel performance, safety performance, supplier quality, HSE performance, and any emerging topics raised by customers or interested parties.
- Support sites on Marine Assurance topics when third party contractors are required (e.g. survey vessel).
- Support regional partners with holiday cover and in periods of high asset capacity (e.g. summer campaigns).
- Support Major Projects team on prioritising and planning of future works/campaigns.
- Regular liaison with Fleet Managers and wider Maritime and Major Programs teams at weekly meetings.
- Maintain and establish good working relationships with customers, project participants, maritime authorities, industry bodies and local partners.
- Coordinate all mobilization activities and review maintenance requirements for upkeep of Class and Flag certification, refits, dry-docking, and repairs.
- Travel up to 30% incl. overseas travel as required by business needs.
- Support Maritime and Major Programs sales by analyzing port costs, project logistic modelling, technical schedule reviews and customer workshops for new units and service extensions.
What You Bring
- Experience in the Maritime sector either as a Deck/Technical Officer or in a shore-based role (crucial).
- Experience in Offshore renewables would be an advantage.
- Exposure to health and safety legislation and safety culture in a previous role.
- Knowledge of SOLAS, ISM, Classification Rules, and vessel contract management (e.g. BIMCO). Some background knowledge of MCA work boat codes and UK Renewables guidelines (RUK, G+).
- Effective communication skills to facilitate consultation, negotiation and decision making with customer-focused partner management.
- Ability to integrate into a large, fast-growing, diverse and multinational organization with a contracted fleet growing to 50+ assets within the next few years.
- Valid drivers license.
