How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

E&C Poland is seeking a highly experienced Fire Fighting Engineer to join our engineering team. This is a pivotal role focused on the comprehensive oversight and execution of Fire Fighting and Protection System packages for complex, industrial capital projects. You will lead from the conceptual phase through to final commissioning, serving as the primary contact responsible for ensuring all fire protection systems comply with the highest quality standards, industry codes, and client specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Design Phase: feasibility, concept studies, Pre‑FEED, FEED, and detailed design.
  • Develop Core Documentation: Fire Protection Philosophies, Loss Prevention deliverables, Firefighting System Calculations, Hydraulic Studies, PFDs, P&IDs, and Equipment Datasheets.
  • Execute detailed designs for underground and aboveground Fire Water (FW) systems, including Hydrants, Monitors, installations, and Water Spray Systems.
  • Perform, supervise, and verify hydraulic calculations and pipe sizing for FW systems.
  • Provide Technical Safety input on engineering documents from other disciplines (Process P&IDs, Plot Plans, General Arrangements) to ensure constructability and design safety.
  • Initiate and manage safety studies performed by specialist consultants (HAZOP, HAZID, ENVID, QRA, FERA, EERA).
  • Supervise and participate in 3D PDS FW piping modeling and layout creation.
  • Coordinate Purchase Orders for Fire Fighting and F&G Detection systems and validate vendor technical documentation.
  • Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance and job training to ensure schedule adherence and quality.
  • Participate in and approve final tests at supplier facilities (FAT) and oversee on‑site acceptance and commissioning of installations.
  • Monitor Technical Safety and Loss Prevention engineering with the EPC contractor to meet project timelines.

Qualifications

  • NFPA Certification.
  • Expert‑level knowledge of Life Safety Code.
  • Expert knowledge of Water Spray Systems design and hydraulic calculations.
  • Expert knowledge of Fire Water Pumps specifications and operation.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with 3D PDS modeling highly valued.
  • Very good written and spoken English (must be capable of leading technical clarification meetings and managing complex documentation).
  • Proven experience in industrial capital projects.
  • Ability to act as a Lead Engineer.
  • Strong capability in coordinating with Clients, Vendors, and Stakeholders.
