Job Description
Purpose Statement:
The Record to Report Financial Controller is responsible for the Record to Report (RTR) process for dedicated Affiliate(s), as well as coordination and oversight of accounting activities for this Affiliate. They serve as the first point of contact regarding process matters and technical accounting expertise in US GAAP.
The role involves driving and coordinating the financial close process, preparing and reviewing journal entries and reconciliations, providing financial and accounting analysis, resolving operational matters (process and accounting related), and preparing BS, P&L, and DSO planning.
The position reports to the Regional Accounting & Reporting Manager.
Major Responsibilities:
- Maintain US GAAP and local ledgers, including preparation and review of related journal entries and reconciliations.
- Drive and own the financial close process and calendar for the Affiliate or cluster of affiliates, including responsibility for executing related SOX controls.
- Support financial and accounting analysis involving complex transactions, including general accounting, fixed assets, intercompany, and financial reporting activities/transactions.
- Prepare and review management and statutory reports, including quarterly Balance Sheet reviews with business-oriented commentaries.
- Prepare the annual entity plan, Balance Sheet, P&L, and DSO plans, compare the plan to actuals, and analyze variances focusing on business drivers (for commercial entities).
- Provide accounting treatment in line with Group policies to Affiliates.
- Guide Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) partners in resolving accounting issues.
- Support group, statutory, and internal audits; act as liaison for RTR-related queries.
- Assist with the Statutory/Fiscal Reports process with third parties, as applicable.
- Collaborate with the FSS Regional Chief Accountant and Finance Directors of assigned affiliates to ensure high-quality ledgers and full compliance with accounting policies.
- Propose and implement initiatives to improve process efficiency and quality.
Qualifications
An energetic, driven individual with strong accounting expertise, capable of acting as a focal point among stakeholders, multitasking, and meeting deadlines.
- Masters Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, planning, and financial analysis.
- Experience in an international environment; pharma sector experience is a plus.
- ACCA, CPA, CIMA qualification or equivalent is advantageous.
- Strong computer skills, especially with Excel and SAP.
- Professional proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Self-motivated with strong follow-up skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to interact effectively across organizational levels.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
