About The Job
We are a fast‑growing global technology company specialising in SaaS and Data Services. With plans to reach $100 million in revenue within the next 3‑5 years, our Finance Operations are becoming increasingly complex. We operate as a fully remote team distributed globally and we are now seeking a mid‑level Financial Accountant to join our team and support our Senior Finance Manager in scaling and managing our accounting function during this exciting growth phase.
In this role, you will play a key part in consolidating financial reporting in our international entities (Ireland, Spain, and the US) and ensuring our accounting processes and systems keep pace with our expansion. You will support the management of core accounting operations (general ledger, reconciliations, accruals and prepayments) and help drive improvements such as a major financial system migration from Xero to a more robust platform. This is a full‑time role with significant responsibility and room for growth, ideal for a resilient, proactive accountant who thrives in a dynamic, remote‑working environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Support core accounting operations – work closely with the Senior Finance Manager to handle day‑to‑day accounting tasks and special projects.
- Financial systems improvement – assist with the migration from Xero to a more scalable finance system (ERP), including system selection, data migration, process redesign, and user training.
- Group consolidation – assist with the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close and consolidation process, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of consolidated financial statements and management reports for the Group.
- General ledger management – support general ledger management, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments, and maintaining accurate Balance Sheet schedules.
- Accounts payable/receivable collaboration – work with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable colleagues to streamline billing and payment processes.
- Cash management & treasury – support day‑to‑day banking activities, including management of multi‑currency bank accounts.
- Collaboration with FP&A & Data Analytics – assist with maintaining data consistency and quality, reporting and analysis support, and business partnering for budgeting and strategic decision‑making.
- Reporting compliance and statutory audit – ensure all accounting activities comply with FRS102 and relevant local regulations, and support the preparation of statutory financial statements and the audit process.
- Financial controls & process improvement – maintain strong financial controls and identify opportunities for automation or efficiency gains in accounting workflows to scale the finance team as the business grows.
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant with a recognised certification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or ACA).
- Big 4 background desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field desirable.
- 3–5+ years post‑qualification experience in a mid‑level accounting role.
- Experience in a tech or SaaS company strongly preferred.
- Tech‑savvy with strong accounting systems experience; hands‑on Xero or similar required.
- Exposure to finance system migrations (e.g. NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Rillet) advantageous.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and consolidation of multiple entities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage general ledger functions, including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and prepayments, with multi‑currency transactions and inter‑company entries in a global business.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to explain financial information to non‑finance colleagues and coordinate with external advisors or auditors.
- Based in Europe with core business hours in Central European Time (CET).
- Willingness to occasionally accommodate meetings across different time zones as needed for a global team.
