Client Details

For our Client, an international company operating in the life science industry, we are looking for a seasoned professional with solid knowledge, applicable experience, and entrepreneurial spirit to join the company as Finance Manager Poland.

The person in this position will be a key member of the management team influencing the commercial direction of the Polish business through financial control and leadership. The job has full responsibility for the financial management of the company, including providing business partnering and commercial support to the business and in particular the GM in order to ensure the profitable growth of the business and the Group CFO in financial reporting and compliance.

Description

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor finance staff, including accounting, payroll, and controlling departments. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and financial reporting requirements. Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors during audits and filings.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop, implement, and manage financial plans, budgets, and forecasts. Analyse financial data to provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance.
  • Budget Management: Monitor and control budgets, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement. Collaborate with department heads to align budgets with organisational goals.
  • Risk Management: Assess and mitigate financial risks by implementing sound risk management practices. Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow to meet operational needs and optimise investment opportunities. Maintain banking relationships and oversee cash management activities.
  • Financial Strategy: Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the companys objectives. Provide financial insights to support decision-making.

Profile

  • Masters Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years experience in finance, including a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position, preferably gained in an international company from the B2B sector (experience in a B2B company dealing with project management scope/services).
  • Must have: Accounting background, gained in e.g., Big4, accounting office, internal accounting department, solid knowledge and understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
  • Experience in controlling, including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, reporting, and analysis.
  • Experience in change management, especially process and tools optimisation, standardisation, and unification, would be highly appreciated.
  • High managerial skills, including the ability to build and lead a motivated and collaborative finance team.
  • Fluency in English (minimum B2/C1 level, both oral and written communication).
  • Proficiency in financial software and controlling tools, such as ERP systems and MS Excel, with the ability to increase business clarity.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and deliver output flexibly and in a pressurised environment.
  • Highly influential with strong persuasive skills.
  • An astute business partner with strong consultancy, communication, and presentation skills, along with experience in providing finance support for business development.
  • Strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities.
