Job Description:
We are seeking a Field Test Engineer responsible for deploying, configuring, testing, and supporting mission-critical communication systems. The role includes on-site implementation, troubleshooting, documentation, and coordination with customers and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
Implementation & Deployment
- Lead and/or perform the implementation of communication system solutions and services that meet customer, end-user, and operator requirements.
- Deploy, configure, commission, test, and troubleshoot systems and solutions on-site.
- Conduct technical implementation assessments with end users and project teams.
Technical Support
- Provide technical support for solution staging as needed.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve technical issues during project implementation.
- Act as the focal point for issues raised during deployment and ensure resolution tracking.
Basic Requirements
- Education: University degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field would be an additional advantage.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in Telecommunication Systems, IP Transport Networks, IT, Field Service, or Technical Support.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of IP Networks (Switches, Routers, Firewalls).
- Familiarity with Operating Systems and Virtualization (Unix, Windows, VMware).
- Good understanding of RF systems (Base Station TX/RX, Mobile/Portable Radio, RF test equipment).
- Manual skills for field work (wiring, soldering, physical installation).
- Certifications: CCNA, JNCIA (or higher) preferred; VMware and Red Hat Linux certifications are advantageous.
Other Requirements
- Valid driving license.
- Willingness to travel up to 80% (domestic and international).
- Ability to obtain security clearance for customer site access.
