About the project
You will be involved in a financial project focused on supporting the PIP (Payments Information Provisioning) Downtown team in delivering SEK Batch functionalities. The project plays a key role in building and maintaining distributed, high-performance backend systems within the financial domain, with a strong emphasis on event-driven architectures and real-time data processing.
We are looking for an Expert Java Developer with strong experience in Kafka-based event-driven systems and relational databases, who is comfortable working in complex, distributed environments. The ideal candidate combines hands-on backend development with a solid understanding of software architecture, scalability, and clean code principles, and can actively contribute to both implementation and technical decision-making.
Salary: 1100 - 1300 PLN/day on B2B
Work model: hybrid from Gdynia/Gdańsk/Łódź/Warszawa (2, 3 days per week from the office)
Your responsibilities
- Support the PIP Downtown team in delivering SEK Batch functionalities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services in Java
- Design, implement, and optimize Kafka producer and consumer logic
- Build and operate services running in Kubernetes-based environments
- Work with relational databases (Oracle, DB2, MSSQL or similar)
- Build distributed, highly-available, and high-throughput applications
- Apply architectural patterns such as microservices, domain-driven design, and event sourcing
- Ensure clean, maintainable, and high-quality code
Our requirements
- Java – Expert level (minimum 8 years of experience working as a Java Developer)
- Kafka – Expert level, including designing and optimizing producer and consumer code
- SQL – Senior level (Oracle, DB2, MSSQL or similar RDBMS)
- Proven experience in building distributed, highly-available, high-throughput systems
- Hands-on experience in applying domain-driven design, event sourcing, microservices architecture, and clean code principles in real-world projects

- Kubernetes – hands-on experience in running and operating backend services
