Key responsibilities:- Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual excise tax returns across applicable jurisdictions.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of excise tax payments, schedules, and reconciliations.
- Monitor legislative updates and evaluate their impact on operations.
- Maintain and validate tax rates for excise‑taxable products.
- Review transactions to ensure correct tax determination and classification.
- Perform periodic reconciliations between ERP data and excise tax filings.
- Maintain documentation supporting excise tax positions.
- Respond to inquiries from tax authorities and support internal and external audits.
- Prepare audit packages, explain variances, and coordinate evidence collection.
- Assess current tax processes and recommend improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Support the implementation of tax controls, ERP/SAP automation, and data‑quality initiatives.
- Support tax planning activities and risk‑mitigation strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in excise tax, indirect tax, or regulatory tax compliance.
- Solid understanding of excise tax regulations in relevant sectors.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and tax determination tools.
- Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel and data‑analysis skills.
