Event Manager

The Event Manager is responsible for all elements of the end to end management of an event, including sourcing, group air, logistics, financial management and delivery. S/he will manage the process from Meeting Qualification call and initial venue proposal to post project financial reconciliation, respecting customer and American Express Meeting & Events standards, procedures and policies.

Responsibilities

1. End to End National and/or International project management
2. Negotiation (Financial, Contractual etc) with suppliers
3. Communication with meeting owners
4. Exhibit leadership skills when managing project team
5. Operational management of the event database (planning, registration)
6. Accurate and timely data management
7. Logistical coordination of the event
8. Maximizing of revenue per event and understanding of overall contribution to revenue and P&L
9. Budget reconciliation per event
10. Sound Company product knowledge and ability to cross sell products where possible
11. Analytical Reasoning – using analysis of today’s meeting data for future event delivery
12. Onsite assistance (if required, not mandatory)
13. Financial and Data Reporting per event, per client
14. Additional duties as requested

Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge

1. Fluent Business English
2. Additional languages are a benefit to the role
3. Customer care excellence
4. Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
5. Proficiency in “Mail Merge” capability in Word and “Pivot tables” in Excel
6. Proficiency in Access is a benefit to the role
7. Proficiency in Cvent and/or Lanyon (Starcite) – data entry, eRFP, reporting, budget is a plus
8. GDS: Group and individual reservations (depending on market: Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo)
9. Minimum of 1-3 years experience in event management
10. Flexibility and Ability to adapt
11. Able to work well in a Team
12. Used to working under pressure
13. High level of attention to detail
