Responsibilities

  • Acting as the primary Frontex point of contact for the Host Country at section level without prejudice to the task of the Frontex Contingent Commander (FCC), representing the FCC for inquiries regarding the operational activities in his/her designated operational location(s).
  • Supporting the FCC in ensuring the proper implementation of the operational activities as described in the Operational Plan, including the respect for fundamental rights and the report of potential non-compliance.
  • Under the instructions of the FCC, implement adjustments to the operational response and working procedures.
  • Establishing and maintaining a close link and cooperation with the Host Country national authorities at section level without prejudice to the task of the FCC.
  • Coordinating the operational activities and deployed resources in the operational area of responsibility in close cooperation with the Host Country national authorities.
  • Monitoring and identifying the changes of operational needs and challenges in the operational area of responsibility and notifying the FCC in due time to ensure business continuity and adequate response.
  • Monitoring and facilitating the proper implementation of the information gathering, sharing, and disseminating of reports in accordance with the Operational Plan.
  • Issuing instructions and supervising Group Leaders (GLs) concerning the working time management of the deployed SC officers and other relevant staff.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of daily reports/updates from the respective operational area.
  • In line with the assigned responsibilities, reporting without delay on potential violation of Frontex’s Codes of Conduct and potential fundamental rights violations to the Fundamental Rights Officer/Fundamental Rights Monitors (FRO/FROMs).
  • Organising and facilitating meetings, operational briefings, crisis meetings, and debriefings.
  • Ensuring the proper functioning of the Frontex chain of command following the hierarchical and functional lines with entities in HQ.
