As the EHS Specialist, Europe, you will have the primary role in assisting the QEHS Manager, Europe with development, implementation, roll-out, and maintenance of all EHS policies, programs, procedures, and best practices. You’ll need to stay connected with global and site-specific EHS staff to gather information, understand needs, and propose responsible and effective solutions. Participate in project planning and execution. Prepare recommendations for on time and on budget project completion. Work collaboratively to improve processes within the organization. (50%)
Conduct and train EHS staff in performing audits, assessments, and analyses. Assist with the creation and promotion of safety incentive programs to reinforce employee engagement in site safety programs. Assess workplaces, machinery, and job tasks for potential hazards and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Assist in environmental reporting as necessary. Develop, maintain, and improve training curricula, presentations, publications, images, and videos related to health & safety. (20%)
Serve as a consultant to leadership and EHS staff in incident response, reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and developing SMARTER corrective actions. Verify that incidents are documented in a timely, complete, and accurate manner. Monitor and coach teams in achieving environmental, health & safety targets and metrics. Support the creation and sharing of lessons learned, hazard alerts, safety bulletins, and other best practice communications. (15%)
Perform environmental, health and safety data analyses, compile results, find trends, draft reports, generate charts and graphs, present and communicate results as necessary to leadership needing data. Offer responsible preventative and corrective actions where data suggests a need. (15%)
YOU
As the EHS Specialist, Europe, you will provide subject matter expertise and support to members of the company’s EHS departments for our Europe operations. This position will be responsible for supporting Environmental, Health & Safety projects across locations in Europe. You will directly impact the EHS Departments success by facilitating and ensuring the sustainability of the companys Environmental, Health & Safety program and promoting compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You will need to demonstrate a proven ability to gather information, think critically, and make responsible decisions in unique situations. You will assemble, work with, and lead cross-functional teams to complete health & safety projects and promote the companys best-in-class Global EHS strategies.
Travel
This position requires domestic and international travel up to 20% of the time.
