You will be joining the Enterprise Architecture (EA) division at Euroclear, a leading post-trade financial market infrastructure.
The EA team is a multi-disciplinary group of experienced architects in charge of:
- Defining the enterprise architecture directions & standards aligned to the company strategies & goals,
- Defining the investment themes to develop or transform the IT capabilities supporting the business units’ strategies,
- Maintaining a multi-year strategic investment plan & technology roadmap and advising on IT investment decisions,
- Steering the definition & realization of IT capabilities and solutions to support business objectives (process, applications, data, and technology) in alignment with the enterprise architecture directions.
Role:
Develop Future State Technology Architecture
- Reports to the Chief Architect and works directly with the Group Technology Services (GTS) Division Head/CTO to advise on Euroclear’s infrastructure technology strategy to build a solid foundation for business execution.
- Works with EA to analyse enterprise business and market context and change requirements in other enterprise architecture viewpoints to develop the future state technology architecture. This includes defining the requirements, principles and models that guide technology decisions for the enterprise.
- Leads the analysis of the current technology environment to identify deficiencies, legacy, and technology debt, and recommends solutions for improvement. Also, leads the analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise and on the enterprise technology architecture.
- Coaches, mentors, and collaborates with technical subject matter experts and EA peers to create technology architecture that enables and drives new business capabilities and operating models.
- Innovates by leveraging new technologies and approaches to renovate, extend, and transform the existing core technology base and IT estate.
- Defines high-level migration plans to address the gaps between the future and current state, in sync with the IT budgeting and strategic planning processes.
Analyses and Evaluates Technology
- Understands technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models.
- Provides technical thought leadership for ongoing transformations.
- Govern and direct the implementation of cloud platforms (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS).
- Guides technology investment decisions based on analysis and evaluation to drive targeted business outcomes while ensuring standardization and reuse of IT assets across the entire IT landscape.
- Assists with designing the governance, assurance and standards activities associated with ensuring enterprise technology architecture compliance of projects and products.
- Oversees and facilitates the research, evaluation, and selection of hardware and software technology and product standards, as well as the design of architecture patterns for use.
- Identifies the impact and implications (for example, on skills, processes, structures, finances, and culture) of the enterprise technology architecture.
- Understands, advocates, and augments the business and technology strategies — and, more specifically, EA development and service delivery.
Leads and Collaborates to Deliver Business Outcomes
- Oversees, or consults on, technology implementation and modification activities, especially for new or shared infrastructure solutions.
- Consults on application or infrastructure development projects to align systems or infrastructure with the enterprise technology architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise technical architecture to accommodate immediate or future project needs.
- Defines production-ready reference implementations that can be easily leveraged by agile teams.
- Works closely with the product managers, product owners and EA to enable infrastructure agility, scalability, and resilience to support required product needs throughout product lifecycle.
- Collaborates to provide guidance and assistance on architectural designs, definitions and guidelines to software vendors, internal and external project delivery teams, and GTS tribes.
- Documents necessary enterprise technology architecture design and analysis work.
Profile
- Strong leadership, analytical, technical, and inter-personal skills are essential.
- 10+ years of industry experience, in technology architecture roles in regulated and complex organization(s), aligned with infrastructure & cloud technologies.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams and leading architecture on large IT transformation initiatives, establishing clear targets, transition roadmaps and managing architectural/technical debt.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing public, private, and hybrid cloud technologies in complex environments and with various cloud migration strategies for existing workloads.
- Deep knowledge of at least three of the following technical disciplines: infrastructure, data centre and network design, public cloud platforms (Azure preferred), application and integration development and CI/CD, Mainframe and server hosting, storage and virtualization, database management, clustering technologies and protocols, and IT operations.
- Good understanding of product management, agile principles and development methodologies and ability to support agile teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact, and risks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Degree in computer science, IT management, software engineering or similar technology/engineering discipline.
- Certification in a common EA framework (e.g., TOGAF) is an advantage.
