About the team/About the job

In the Merchant department, we are responsible for setting up conditions for our Sellers to grow and develop their businesses in Poland and Internationally. We launched Allegro marketplace in Czech Republic in May’23 and we are going to continue our path of successful international expansions to other central and eastern European markets. We are looking for an experienced Engineering Team Manager to lead a team of several engineers. You will work on offer products and services. Along with the team, you will care about all aspects of product development from ideation (with help of Product Managers), through development, ending with deployment and maintenance of working solutions. We constantly work to extend our solution capabilities and capacity in accordance with Allegro expansion. Currently, the team is distributed across three cities (with most members residing in Poznań and Warsaw).

• Have the ability to manage and build relationships in a team of skilled engineers.
• Can listen, motivate and provide constructive feedback as well as select adequate development activities for their team.
• Have good prioritization skills, are familiar and not afraid of making difficult decisions in the name of product and company.
• Have the ability to convince others when discussing business and technical solutions in line with the best market practices.
• Are experts in software development, operational excellence, and modern system architecture.
• Are fluent in JVM technologies and want to learn new ones.
• Have ambitions to use cloud technologies and Kubernetes.
• Have experience in leading teams working with the use of agile methodologies.
• Can look for effective solutions to the requirements of our users.
• Are able to work closely with the business (can reconcile technical and business issues).
• Can present the necessary technical work in the context of business risks.
• Expect work that has a deeper meaning and want to enjoy its results, looking for mastery.
• Want to be proud of the technical solutions their team creates and eagerly share knowledge during code reviews.
• Enjoy constant development and updating their knowledge necessary to stay on top in the constantly changing product environment.
• Know English at least at B2 level.

• Highly complex systems using microservice architecture.
