Responsibilities
- Lead a distributed team of software developers to design and implement Ubuntu Core system software for ARM, RISC‑V, and x86 architectures.
- Hire, coach, mentor, and develop engineering talent; manage career growth and performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize requests, set the roadmap, and ensure delivery of high‑quality, secure operating systems.
- Advocate agile practices and drive continuous improvement across engineering teams.
- Represent the team in leadership meetings and influence engineering culture.
Qualifications
- Strong background in embedded Linux and embedded software development.
- Proficiency in Golang, C++ and shell scripting.
- Deep understanding of Linux, Debian, or Ubuntu distributions.
- Experience leading engineering teams in an agile environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Solid academic record and a track‑record of delivering high‑quality software on schedule.
Nice‑to‑have
- Experience with immutable Linux distributions, especially Ubuntu Core.
- Hands‑on work with Linux containerization and security.
- Exposure to multiple CPU architectures (ARM, RISC‑V).
