What You Will Do
- Lead and grow a backend team developing microservices and APIs in Java (Spring Boot).
- Drive technical design discussions and long-term architectural planning.
- Partner with Product Managers to translate business goals into robust technical outcomes.
- Encourage engineering best practices, from testing and deployment to monitoring and incident response.
- Support the professional growth of your team through coaching, feedback, and clear goal setting.
- Manage cross-team dependencies and communicate priorities across engineering and product groups.
Requirements
- Deep technical foundation in Java
- Experience building distributed or event-driven systems
- 6+ years in backend development
- At least 2 years in a management or tech lead role
- Proven ability to balance delivery speed with quality and maintainability
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, and observability stacks
- Fluent in English
- Experience in fintech, payments, or large-scale transactional systems (optional)
- Exposure to Kotlin, Scala, or Go (optional)
- Understanding of security and compliance within high-availability systems (optional)
- Track record mentoring senior engineers or managing multiple teams (optional)
