Join to apply for the Engineering Manager role at GOG
Join GOG - Where Games Live Forever. Were GOG - a global gaming platform connecting millions of players with the games they love. As part of the CD PROJEKT Group (The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077), we build technology that keeps great games alive and accessible for generations.
The Product Engineering team is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead us into 2026 and beyond.
Your team is responsible for GOGs web platform - the foundation that powers how millions of gamers discover, purchase, and play their favorite titles.
Why this role exists
At GOG, engineers don’t just ship code - they build products that shape how millions of gamers experience and rediscover the titles they love.
To make that possible, we need leaders who combine technical depth, delivery discipline, product focus, and people leadership.
As Engineering Manager, youll play a pivotal role in leading a talented team of engineers. Working alongside your counterparts in Product, Design, and Data, youll help us design, build, and deliver the right features with the right level of quality, while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Lead and manage your team of engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality delivery. Youll be deeply involved in technical decisions, architecture reviews, and engineering practices.
Collaborate with the Product Manager to prioritize work and maintain a roadmap that aligns with business priorities, using data analysis (e.g. DORA metrics) to inform prioritization and resource allocation.
Ensure the team operates with speed, resilience, and reliability, meeting GOGs engineering standards. This involves using all means at your disposal - from people and processes to automation.
Provide timely reporting of delivery progress against commitments, dependencies, issues, risks, and proactive mitigations. Surface problems early, escalate before they become fires.
Encourage lean approaches such as MVP and A/B testing to ensure we deliver the right experiences for millions of gamers worldwide.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team members to own and evolve their ways of working. Just as importantly, provide support and development to every engineer through the highs and lows of working life - through effective 1-1s, honest feedback, and career growth planning.
Collaborate with other leaders across GOG to share learnings, align architectural decisions, and continuously raise the engineering bar.

You have demonstrable success in engineering management and leadership, with 4+ years managing delivery-focused teams (5-10 people) and 5+ years as a software engineer before that (ideally in e-commerce, B2C, or gaming).
You have an experienced understanding of software engineering practices and agile methodologies and can discuss the pros and cons of common approaches - whether its Angular vs React, monoliths vs microservices, or trunk-based development vs feature branches. Youre comfortable with modern stacks (we use Angular, PHP/Symfony, but value broad experience).
Your leadership and communication skills enable you to drive clarity and insight across diverse audiences - from engineers deep in technical debt discussions to executives asking about roadmap risks. You can inspire and motivate your team toward shared vision and goals.
You can discuss your experiences working with cross-functional teams and managing complex projects, sharing both what has worked well and reflecting on what has not. Youve improved team velocity without burnout. Youve coached engineers through performance issues.
Youre comfortable with data - DORA metrics, sprint analytics, team health signals - and use it to inform decisions, not just report status.
