Job Description 

As an Engineering Manager at zooplus, you are at the heart of our mission to drive innovation and excellence within our Product Team. This team, consisting of approximately six talented Software Engineers and a dedicated Product Owner, operates within the dynamic domain of Master Data Management with focus on SEO. Drawing on your extensive background in delivering cutting-edge software products and leading diverse teams, you play a pivotal role in guiding your colleagues towards optimizing team effectiveness. But thats not all; you are also a mentor and champion of personal development, providing unwavering support throughout each individuals journey to success. 

Your responsibilities for this role: 

• You take ownership of ensuring the successful delivery of our Product Teams commitments, by setting clear goals and expectations. 
• You have a strong commitment to maintaining a high standard of technical excellence by emphasizing best practices and industry trends. 
• You create an inspiring environment with an open communication culture and an outstanding way of collaboration throughout the whole zooplus. 
• You ensure that your teams are in line with zoopluss business and technology strategy, operating models, and guidelines.   
• You contribute to the development of general strategic guidelines, organizational & technical frameworks, and the corresponding processes.  
• You support your teams as an agile driver & coach of the software delivery process. 
• You are responsible for growing qualified and motivated people in your teams to meet business & tech expectations. 
• You actively participate in the recruitment and retention process, ensuring a healthy composition of the Product Team. 
• You work with the Domain Engineering Manager to monitor and optimize budget costs related to product expenses, such as AWS, licenses, externals, and personnel costs  

Qualifications 

• A minimum of 8 years of invaluable experience in Software Development in JVM related languages 
• A profound understanding of software engineering and design fundamentals, complemented by hands-on design and development expertise 
• A track record of successful people management and team leadership 
• Expertise in agile methodologies and practices 
• Experience working in an internationally distributed environment
