We’re looking for an experienced hands-on Engineering Manager to lead the team responsible for building and delivering the high-performance marketing platform. 

About the project: 

Zeropark is a self-serve, high-performance marketing platform for brands, agencies, digital performance marketers, and internal media buying teams. Our services include incremental advertising and online traffic monetization solutions, while the products we create offer cutting-edge technology for programmatic ad serving. 

Zeropark is a product of Commerce Media Tech, part of the Team Internet Group. CMT also offers Voluum, ad tracking, analytics, optimization software and some internal advertising tools. 

Our team: 

The Zeropark product engineering team consists of eighteen highly motivated people: twelve engineers, two Engineering Managers (one of them might be you), the Head of Product, two Product Managers, and one Product Designer. You will be managing a team of seven engineers in three different specializations: Frontend, Backend and QA. 

We plan our features closely with customer-facing and business teams, implement them, deploy them on our own, and later maintain them. There are no external operations or support team; we have full access to the production environments.

• AWS: EC2, S3, SQS, RDS, Route53 and much more! 
• Databases: PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis, Memcached, VoluumDB (our internal analytics database) 
• Tools: Terraform, Docker, Maven, Jenkins, GitHub 
• Monitoring: DataDog, PagerDuty

Key Responsibilities:

• Building and managing a highly effective product engineering team 
• Building, delivering and maintaining a great software product that timely brings the most business value to clients 
• Cooperating with Zeropark Product Governance to define and execute product strategy 
• Cooperating with Product Managers, Product Designers and customer-facing teams to translate client needs and high-level requirements into product and system backlog, including priorities, timelines, costs, and feasibility 
• Defining and delivering the long-term vision of scalable and cost-effective system architecture that is aligned with the product and business goals 
• Working with Engineering Manager for Zeropark Publisher, Platform Team and CTO on budget forecasting and cost optimization of the infrastructure and third-party services 
• Working closely with engineering leaders on resolving interdependencies and planning and delivering strategic technology and engineering initiatives  
• Guiding the engineering team towards delivery of highly available, secure, stable, maintainable and performant systems 
• Building a detail-oriented, collaborative, transparent culture with a focus on products and customers 
• Fostering the continuous learning culture by supporting the team in experimenting, analyzing outcomes and learning from both successes and failure 
• Providing engineers with regular feedback and mentoring. Supporting them in career development 
• Participating hands-on in product development and maintenance, including developing, testing, and deploying new features, enhancements and fixes; monitoring and maintaining the system; and creating and maintaining technical documentation  

Requirements

• At least two years of engineering leadership experience with at least five years of previous engineering experience 
• Experience with a customer-driven and pragmatic approach to building and delivering software systems 
• Experience in building and maintaining strong engineering practices and processes 
• Track record of delivering scalable, high-performance, and high-quality software systems 
• Good system design skills and understanding of software reliability, scalability and performance concepts 
• Experience with incremental approach to the system architecture evolution 
• Good Java programming, testing and code review skills 
• Good knowledge of distributed systems, cloud services (preferably AWS), and databases (preferably PostgreSQL) with practical experience in CI/CD practices 
• Nice to have experience with Spring, Kafka, Terraform, and monitoring tools 
• Strong sense of independence, ownership, and initiative; “can-do” attitude 
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills 
• Ability to communicate fluently in English and Polish
