What You Will Do
- Develop a deep understanding of how our cross‑functional teams work and contribute to our broader product and company strategy
- Act as a thought partner and trusted leader for stakeholders across Product, Design, and Growth
- Serve as a credible technical advisor to engineering teams, helping them make better architectural and technical decisions
- Balance business needs, product goals, and strong engineering principles in day‑to‑day decision making
- Make thoughtful decisions in complex and ambiguous situations, typical of a growing startup
- Take informed risks - making strategic bets while driving strong tactical execution
- Build and maintain an inclusive, high‑performing team environment where people feel safe, respected, and motivated
- Hold a high bar for hiring, retention, and growth, coaching and mentoring engineers at different career stages
- Lead by example as a culture role model
What we’re looking for
- 4+ years of experience building and leading software engineering teams
- Proven ability to maximize team impact while supporting individual growth and career development
- Strong experience building business or consumer‑facing applications with high quality standards
- Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple cross‑functional stakeholders and initiatives
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and modern architectures (media or consumer scale is a plus)
- Strong product mindset - you care deeply about outcomes, not just implementation
- Experience leading large or complex initiatives through influence rather than authority
- Comfortable giving and receiving direct, candid feedback
- Ability to balance providing context with setting clear direction
- Track record of helping senior engineers grow deeper into their careers and increase their impact
- Excellent communication skills with engineers, partners, and leadership - especially in cross‑border, distributed teams
Experience with mobile apps, media, or music‑related products is a strong plus.
