about-project :
As an Engineering Manager on the Risk engineering team, you will report to the senior engineering manager. You contribute to engineering strategy, improving recruiting and cultural practices, and overseeing diverse projects across the Risk engineering team. You are a partner who creates a welcoming team culture across the company. You will manage a team of engineers while growing the careers of team members and shaping the engineering culture of Remitly as a whole.
As the manager of this team, you will lead global expansion of the Remittance product for our KYC (know your customer) and identity verification products. You will lead your team to collaborate asynchronously across timezones and business functions. You will guide the creation of excellent technical systems with minimal tech debt.
responsibilities :
Drive global expansion for our KYC and risk products
Manage multiple business critical identity verification systems
Contribute to the development of our identity verification platforms
Travel to our Seattle office 1-2 times a year
Lead and grow a team of 7 engineers
Have a relationship and work arrangements with teams in the US that ensures transparency and autonomy
requirements-expected :
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree or experience.
4+ years of experience in a software engineering role
2+ in a technical leadership role
Experience leading core engineering efforts / technical teams / building diverse, empowered teams
Experience defining and influencing technical designs and processes across a team
An understanding of software development practices, system design, software design patterns, and algorithms
