Project description

The project is related to regulatory reporting for one of our clients from the Investment Banking area using OpenEdge (Progress 4GL) technology. There is an exclusive team developing and supporting approximately 25 systems in the Securities area using the Process OpenEdge solution. The current OpenEdge team is located in Wrocław. We are extending the team in Wrocław for support with the technology stack upgrade (and moving towards the strategic platform) to OpenEdge v12 & PASOE, as well as further business applications development and support.

Responsibilities

• We are looking for an experienced engineer versed in Java/Kotlin with API and back-end development skills who is motivated to build our next generation Post-Trade & Custody ecosystem based on services and integration in modern programming paradigms.
• We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tech Lead engineer with strong leadership abilities and excellent technical expertise. In this role, you will not only provide technical guidance and expertise but also take on line manager responsibilities with a team of 5-6 engineers, ensuring the success of our projects and the growth and development of our team members.

SKILLS

Must have

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a leadership or management role, guiding and mentoring a team of engineers.
• Solid understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java/Kotlin, C#, or similar.
• Knowledge of frameworks like Spring Framework.
• Experience in test-driven development, continuous integration, and deployment.
• Experience in RDBMS such as MS SQL, Postgres, or Oracle.
• Understanding of a broad range of platforms, technologies, and tools, specifically UNIX/Linux, Git, and JIRA.
• Excellent communication skills and experience in liaising with other teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Knowledge of virtualization and containerization.
• Knowledge of Kafka including Streaming API.
• Experience as an engineer working in a globally distributed team.
• Experience working in a fast-paced Agile environment.
