Engineering Director for Healthcare Division IRC280894

We are looking for a highly experienced and dynamic Engineering Director to lead complex, multi-account engineering engagements across the digital health and connected medical solutions landscape. This role is focused on driving engineering excellence, enabling organizational scalability, and strengthening long-term client partnerships through innovation, technical leadership, and disciplined delivery.

As Engineering Director, you will oversee distributed teams of 100+ engineers supporting global and U.S.-based companies in medical diagnostics, clinical data management, and digital care coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale engineering organizations of 100+ people across multiple complex accounts within the digital health and connected medical solutions domain.
  • Ensure engineering and delivery excellence, compliance with regulatory standards, and a strong client satisfaction focus across all engagements.
  • Oversee the design, development, and integration of software for diagnostic and laboratory equipment, EHR/EMR systems, data analytics, and medical device management.
  • Partner with technical leaders, architects, quality, and compliance teams to maintain and evolve engineering practices under established Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Collaborate closely with client executives and senior stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on delivery strategy, technical direction, and long-term innovation planning.
  • Contribute to business development by supporting proposals, shaping solutions, and participating in pre‑sales, RFI/RFP responses, and client presentations.
  • Manage account‑level P&L, including revenue forecasting, profitability targets, and capacity planning.
  • Drive operational excellence, ensuring adherence to defined processes, managing risks, and continuously improving delivery frameworks and SDLC practices.
  • Build, mentor, and develop strong engineering and delivery management teams, ensuring career growth and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and collaboration across distributed engineering teams.
  • Represent the company at client meetings and industry events, strengthening the organization’s presence within the digital health and MedTech community.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering or QA, including at least 5 years in engineering management, delivery, or program leadership.
  • Proven success leading large‑scale engineering organizations (60–100+ engineers) across multiple concurrent projects or client accounts.
  • Strong background in regulated or mission‑critical domains, particularly digital health, medical technology, medical devices, or diagnostics.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Regulatory & Quality Compliance, including management under QMS frameworks and compliance with FDA, MDR, ISO 13485, IEC 62304, HIPAA, or equivalent standards.
  • In‑depth knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies and practical experience establishing efficient delivery and governance models.
  • Proven ability to define strategic goals, translate them into actionable plans, and drive execution across distributed teams.
  • Experience with pre‑sales, proposal creation, and solution pitching to global clients; familiarity with NDA/MSA/SOW frameworks and commercial delivery structures.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial and proactive mindset, focused on innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Advanced proficiency in English (business and technical contexts); additional European languages are an advantage.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.
