Energy & Sustainability Consultant — London (Hybrid Working)
Up to £42,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Working across commercial, residential, education, and healthcare sectors, you will help create buildings that perform efficiently and meet the highest sustainability standards.
Role Overview
As an Energy & Sustainability Consultant, you will support Senior Sustainability Engineers in delivering environmentally responsible and compliant building design solutions. You will gain hands‑on experience in building performance analysis, energy modelling, and sustainability reporting, contributing to the successful delivery of high‑profile projects from concept through to detailed design.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct dynamic simulation modelling using IES VE for building physics and energy performance analysis.
- Support Part L compliance assessments, dynamic thermal modelling, and TM54 operational energy studies.
- Assist with daylight, overheating, and thermal comfort analysis to inform design development.
- Contribute to Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and embodied carbon analysis.
- Prepare Energy and Sustainability Statements for planning submissions and GLA (London Plan) compliance.
- Participate in BREEAM‑related studies and reporting where applicable.
- Shadow senior consultants in client meetings – taking notes, assisting with documentation, and supporting project coordination.
- Maintain clear document control and reporting in line with company standards.
- Stay up to date with evolving sustainability regulations, including Part L, TM54, and London Plan policies.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Strong technical understanding of building physics, energy modelling, and sustainability principles.
- Familiarity with IES VE or similar dynamic simulation tools.
- Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and sustainability standards (e.g. BREEAM, London Plan).
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate technical findings clearly.
- Self‑motivated with a genuine passion for sustainability and the built environment.
- Willingness to learn and develop within a supportive and professional team environment.
