Employee Relations Consultant
Do you bring hands‑on experience in Employee Relations within a professional services or corporate environment? Are you passionate about delivering commercially focused advice and support across a wide range of cases? If so, we’d love to hear from you. We’re looking for an experienced Employee Relations Consultant to join our UK People Matters Team. In this role, you’ll handle a diverse caseload including grievances, disciplinaries, performance and capability matters, absence and wellbeing support, contract queries, and policy reviews. This is a flexible role open to both remote and hybrid working from our Krakow office.
What The Day Will Look Like
- Provide high quality ER advice to UK business managers and People Partners / HRBP’s on a day‑to‑day basis and partner effectively across teams to deliver best‑practice results.
- Use coaching and influencing skills to ensure the right outcome is achieved in each case, managing risk while maximising business results.
- Advise the business on understanding, ownership and application of all aspects of employment legislation, procedural compliance and best practice.
- Accurately interpret changes in legislation and codes of practice to ensure the business follows best practice and operates within employment law and regulatory requirements.
- Develop effective and credible relationships with colleagues and clients to promote good employee relations across the business.
- Deliver an effective internal ER consultancy, remaining focused on adding value to the business and maximising the effectiveness of Aon colleagues.
- Assist in the development of a proactive ER agenda, project work, knowledge sharing and professional development activities.
- Support change management programmes including employee consultation.
- Operate in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework and UK policies, including participation in risk management and completion of mandatory training.
Skills And Experience That Will Lead To Success
- Excellent technical employee relations and UK employment law knowledge gained through employee relations, HR generalist experience or relevant management or legal role.
- Able to act with sensitivity and diplomacy in dealing with challenging people issues.
- Proven commercial approach with a good understanding of business needs and the ability to make sound judgements.
- Experience advising and influencing line managers and adept at handling difficult conversations.
- Ability to prioritise in a fast‑paced environment, manage workload to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Strong team‑player, recognising boundaries of own expertise and seeking input from others as needed; degree‑educated or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in IT applications and systems including Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
